Put Away the Old, Make Room for the New.

Your tastes have changed. A grace has lifted. Something that once satisfied you now feels stale. It has passed its expiration date. You can stay there. Try to manufacture passion. Rekindle the old desires. Put on the clothes that don’t fit. But that will likely lead to frustration and resentment.

Let the old go. Embrace the new. - Craig Cooney

Space is hard to come by in our world today. Space to think, dream, grow, write, plan, breathe, hope, strategize, or just to be. Sit still, without anything else in the way. Nothing else to fight for your time, energy, thoughts, headspace.

I wonder what would happen if we all took a BREAK. Took a break from the screens, notifications, emails, social media feeds, TV, audiobooks, podcasts, constant meetings, zoom calls, errands, running around checking things off of our to do lists, cleaning our houses, organizing our houses, and just doing things. Would we know what to do?

Sometimes, I find myself walking around my house almost looking for the next thing that needs to be done, instead of sitting down on the couch, and just sitting there.

On the rare occasion that I do, my mind is usually directed to more meaningful, impactful thoughts. In fact, most of the thoughts that I have had that have been words or phrases that have stuck with me the most, have come from those moments. If we don't have those moments, we can't capture those thoughts. The meaningful thoughts that can drive the most important decisions in our homes, businesses, relationships and lives.

So I'd like to challenge you to try it this month. Go somewhere that you can just "be" for a bit. Put everything away, and make some room for the new to come.
